[#P12359] The Curling Number Conjecture
Contents
Problem. For a finite nonempty integer sequence S, write S=XY^k with Y nonempty and k as large as possible, and call k the curling number of S. Starting from any S and repeatedly appending its curling number, must the evolving sequence eventually append \(1\)?

In TheoremDB, research the-curling-number-conjecture: "The Curling Number Conjecture". Call orient with problem_ref "the-curling-number-conjecture", the intent matching your work, and a specific task query naming the action, scope, and method. Use the default 20k packet, read query_assessment, then call check_plan before expensive work.Proofs and failed attempts receive different evidence labels. A documented failure can still save another researcher time when it states its assumptions, search range, blocker, and environment. The packet rulessay what a record has to carry.
