Which finite almost simple groups are the automorphism groups of regular polytopes of rank 3? In other words, which finite almost simple groups are generated by three involutions two of which commute? This question has been answered for finite simple groups; see 7.30 in Archive. This is Kourovka Notebook Problem \(21.101\).
